It is a skill development program run by ministry of skill development and entrepreneurship it was launched by government of India in 2015 .it trains youth by various skills that are necessary to get a job in today’s world through various training centre across the country it provides the trainee certificates and financial reward when they complete the program.
It is a demand driven program that focuses on skills that are important for today’s world the ultimate goal of this program is to make youth employable.
New update of PM Skill Development Scheme 2024-
Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) is now launched as pmkvy 3.0 the budget of this new scheme is rs948.9 cr and will focus on people who were affected by covid 19 it will be implemented during next five year.
The target of govt is to make 8 lakh people employable in the first year and 25 lakh over the next 5 years The scheme will focus on providing training in future-ready skills such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Robotics and Data Science. The scheme will also provide training in traditional skills like plumbing, masonry and carpentry which are in demand.
